Connect to the boat
Sync GPSMAP® 86s with compatible Garmin plotters and instruments, and you'll see real-time boating data right on your handheld. In addition, it functions as a remote control so you can easily use your Garmin autopilot and selected marine FUSION products. When you're on the move, an adjustable GPS filter smoothes the speed and heading indications over surges for more accurate tracking.

BlueChart g3 charts as an option
GPSMAP® 86s comes with a preloaded global base map. You can also add the BlueChart g3 charts that have industry-leading coverage, sharpness and detail with integrated data from Garmin and Navionics®. With detailed contours, you can see contours at 0.3 meters which provides a more accurate representation of the bottom structure for improved fishing cards and greater detail in marshes, canals and harbours.

Stay connected
Receive smart notifications right on the GPSMAP® 86s when you pair it with your compatible smartphone. You can also sync GPSMAP® 86s with the Garmin Explore™ portal for cloud management of your favorite waypoints, tracks and routes. GPSMAP® 86s features Wi-Fi® connectivity, ANT+® technology and Bluetooth® wireless technology for easy wireless updates and connections. On long trips, the built-in rechargeable lithium battery provides 40 hours of battery life in 10 minutes of tracking mode 1 .
