A total beginner can feel like a pro in the cockpit of a Whiskey 16. In still water, the kayak is comfortable, stable and easy to maneuver - a perfect kayak to develop your skills.

3-layer PE construction gives Whiskey 16 stiffness and strength while reducing weight. The Whiskey 16 has two large oval hatches front and rear, a large round day hatch behind the cockpit to access smaller items while paddling and a Whiskey hatch, a smaller coffee hatch in front of the cockpit.

The padded cockpit comes equipped with an ergonomically designed seat (carbon fiber in this case) that provides excellent support but also the close contact with the kayak that is needed in rough seas. The Whiskey 16 Rocker is standard equipped with the Point 65 AIR-Backrest™, an inflatable backrest for the best comfort and support.

The hull is designed with large volume in the fore and aft and a slightly rounded bottom shape with sharp strokes that run from fore to aft. This results in a stable, but very easy-to-maneuver shape that is specially designed for larger water and precision paddling. The large volume in the bow and stern prevents a so-called broach where the bow digs in when surfing, which usually results in a swim.

The design of the deck is adapted so that hatches can be easily accessed in all types of weather and temperatures and that deck fittings etc. are not in the way during rescue manoeuvres. Based on Nigel's experience of kayaking expeditions in extreme conditions, Nigel Foster has designed the Whiskey 16 for both pleasure and expeditions in extreme waters.
