To maximize battery life, we have used a high-quality, Japanese-made, Nichia power LED with a high-efficiency digital circuit. It's lightweight and IP67 rated for dust and water ingress, meaning it will float with the lens straight out of the water. AA batteries mean many more hours of light for your money compared to AAA, and since they are battery powered, no external wiring and replacement is required.
