Aldebaran BFS' remarkable light casting performance is provided by the Finesse Tune Braking (FTB) system. This is a combination of magnets and centrifugal force braking that work in harmony with the ultra-lightweight MGL III coil to control braking. The addition of the S3D coil construction and SilentTune technology further enhances performance. When adjusted with an external dial and set to the lowest setting, brake friction is almost imperceptible.
Internally, the Micromodule Gear and X-SHIP provide a smooth, powerful and efficient winding force and the overall weight is reduced by using a HAGANE body composed of magnesium and CI4+ materials. Light bait experts who prefer a quick retrieve will appreciate the options of the 7.8:1 (HGL) or 8.9:1 (XGL) models, both equipped with Shimano's Exciting Drag Sound to enhance fish play.
