HOW WE AT KAYAKSTORE ASSESS AN ITEM'S CONDITION
We understand that buying used equipment online can be tricky. You want to feel and squeeze the product in question to confirm that it is in the condition you expected. Therefore, we have produced a guide regarding the condition of the goods that we publish in our new venture Pre-Loved. Everything to make your purchase as easy and smooth as possible!
Below is a list with a brief description of the four levels that we at Kayakstore use to describe the condition of an item.
New condition
An item categorized under "new condition" has no or very few cosmetic defects or blemishes. If there are cosmetic defects, these have not arisen during use, but usually during shipping or other handling.
Examples of cosmetic defects or blemishes that may occur in "new condition"
- Broken original packaging
- Minor scratches that occurred during shipping
- Minor factory defects
An item categorized under "very good condition" has minor cosmetic defects and few signs of use. These goods have often only been used on one occasion.
Examples of cosmetic defects or blemishes that may occur in “very fine condition”
- Occasional scratches and blemishes
- Less surface wear or color loss
- Dirt from use
An item categorized under "fine condition" has some cosmetic defects and signs of use. These items have been used several times but have been properly cared for to ensure function.
Examples of cosmetic defects or blemishes that may occur in "fine condition"
- Scratches and scuffs after use
- Any discoloration on e.g. hull
- Minor fixes may occur
An item categorized under "acceptable condition" has clear cosmetic defects and signs of use, however, all of these products are fully functional.
Examples of cosmetic defects or blemishes that may occur in “acceptable condition”
- Obvious scratches and scuffs after use
- Obvious repairs and possibly replaced parts
- May lack accessories or accessories (however, the item is fully functional)
